SPM Gap Analysis LiteSPM GAP Lite is a web based interactive tool providing organisations with the means to assess their capabilities against good practice asset management and other similar organisations. The tool does not define right and wrong, or identify required levels of performance. Instead it allows users to assess the level of knowledge, performance and suitability of existing and planned asset management capabilities. Once completed the output provides the means to compare current and planned performance with other similar organisations.
There are a range of international standards, specifications, and process documents that define asset management. PAS 55 and the soon to be released ISO 55000 series define good practices in the whole life management of physical assets. The 2011 International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM), the 2006 NAMS Property Manual, and the IPWEA Practice Notes all provide guidance on the actual implementation of asset management, i.e. providing specific emphasis on the ‘how-to’. For consistency the SPM GAPLite questions are aligned with the 2011 International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM).
The self-assessment should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.

SPM Gap Analysis Lite
"In business and economics, gap analysis is a tool that helps companies compare actual performance with potential performance. At its core are two questions: "Where are we?" and "Where do we want to be?" If a company or organization does not make the best use of current resources, or forgoes investment in capital or technology, it may produce or perform below its potential." - Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gap_analysis
